N*E*R*D "Rock Star" (EU promo)
I've heard others say they can't stand the Jason Nevins Remix, but for me, it's perfect, and the original just seems to drag. The teddy bear is a perfect cover, but for some reason, reminds me of Peaches
every time I hear it. No, I don't understand it either (although maybe it's the glasses!).
NME "Come On Try Young" (UK import)
The compilation that made me permanently fall in love with Coldplay, and introduced a nation to the beauty of Sigur Ros. And I also got Lupine Howl, Doves, and Clearlake at the same time. Bitchin'.
NME "The Bands Who" (UK import)
I pretty much owned all these songs already, but when it's only a pound for a cd and a magazine, you really have to. I got a good laugh out of SFA's 'Citizen's Band', though, which is actually not the song, but a very, very short track from the end of the album. Stupid interns!
NME "The Glastonbury Broadcasts Vol 1" (UK import)
Fun to get lots of live tracks all at once, especially from Glastonbury, mother of all festivals! The real shocker on here is a hard rock Jeff Buckley song... odd.
Natural Born Killers "Soundtrack"
Pretty good, hard album. Nice to hear Burn, and the L7 song. And the little interludes are nice and twisted. Sound like my hometown.
New Order "Here to Stay" cd2 (UK promo)
Besides 'Blue Monday', none of their songs really hit me until this one. I don't know whether it's because of 24 Hour Party People or something in the song itself, but I just can't get enough of it.
Nine Inch Nails "And All That Could've Been" (ltd ed 2 cd set)
It's really difficult for me to sum of both cds in a few sentences here, so I'll just link to my comprehensive review I gave to a bunch of indie kids. The short version: it's the essential NIN release.
Nine Inch Nails "Broken" (and on UK Import 12" EP)
I cannot stress enough how much this album kicks ass!!! My all time favorite! Extremely hard, and I listen to every song! This album goes off the charts of my rating system!
Nine Inch Nails "Closer to God" Domestic
Got it from a friend for 5 bucks. Best investment I've made in a long time. Worth it for the remixes "Closer to God" (trent played this in concert) and "Heresy" (Soooo much better than the original!!!)
Nine Inch Nails "Closure"
Ok, even though it isn't a cd, it is Halo 12, so I'll put it on here. The backstage clips are the best, and the uncensored videos are a plus, even if they didn't include Burn... NR
Nine Inch Nails "Down In It"
Aww, baby-Trent's first song, how cute! Bought to complete (or nearly complete) the set.
Nine Inch Nails "Fixed" (UK Import)
Bought it off a friend. Wasn't going to, since remix albums are against my religion, but I made an exception since it being an import overrid the remix part...
Nine Inch Nails "Head Like a Hole"
Maxi Single. Got it from a friend for cheap, and it has some ok remixes. But hey, it's a halo...
Nine Inch Nails "Into the Void" (Australian import)
Bought this in Germany, and I jumped around like a little girl. Pretty silly, especially since I already owned all of the tracks on other releases. But at least it wasn't many Deutschmarks. (and oddly enough, it has NO halo markings. eerie.)
Nine Inch Nails "March of the Pigs" (Domestic)
Waited a long time to get it (I waited for a good price), but the remixes are wonderful. And anyone who knows me knows that I'm definitely NOT a fan of remixes...
Nine Inch Nails "Pretty Hate Machine"
I hate people who only own Downward Spiral and say they're fans! Alot of good songs on here. More techno than industrial, though.
Nine Inch Nails "Sin"
Got it on a used rack, as an addition to my halo collection. Actually, I mainly wanted it so I'd have a crystal-clear copy of Get Down Make Love, since my prior copy was off a bootleg...
Nine Inch Nails "The Day the World Went Away"
The title track is brilliant. Absolutely crushing and beautiful. The b-side, on the other hand, is the biggest load of poo I've heard from Trent in years.
Nine Inch Nails "The Downward Spiral"
My least favorite of the full albums, but I'm starting to like it more. I like alot of his quotes, though. (no, I don't mean "I want to fuck you like an animal"...)
Nine Inch Nails "The Fragile"
Wow. The maturity shown here is immense. So fantastic, so atmospheric, so post-rock. It's truly perfection (well, except for 'Starfuckers'.)
Nine Inch Nails "The Perfect Drug"
Ok, ok, I know it's a remix album, and even though I still hate remixes, I couldn't pass it up because it was only $3. Call me thrifty.
Nine Inch Nails "Things Falling Apart"
I bought it because I'm (stupidly or not) a NIN completist, and I wanted the cover of 'Metal'. The remixes are the usual NIN style, which I don't much enjoy.
Nine Inch Nails "We're in This Together" cd1, cd2, & cd3 (EU import)
I can't tell which cd is which, so I'll list them together. The remixes are alright, but what I really like is the b-sides, like 'Complications of the Flesh', '10 Miles High', and 'The New Flesh'. If only they didn't feel the need to sucker us fans into buying 3 copies.
